Vesper Boat Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Wisniewski as Head Coach of Vesper’s Elite Rowing Program. Vesper’s Elite Program develops, trains and supportsstick athletes who have the talent, potential and passion to become National and Olympic Team rowers.

Wisniewski has been the Assistant Head Coach at Vesper since 2009 and Head Coach of Vesper’s successful U-23 program, which qualified athletes for the U-23 World Championships in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Scott coached the Lightweight Women’s Double of Sarah Keller (Trinity ’11) and Lizzy Bates (Harvard ’11) to a best-ever finish for the US in that event in 2010 (9th) and followed that up, coaching the same duo to the A Final and a sixth place finish in 2011.

During his tenure at Vesper, Scott also served as Head Coach of the Haddon Township High School Crew, coaching 22 Varsity rowers to a total of 22 medals in 2011 and qualifying all varsity boats for the 2011 SRA Scholastic Nationals.

Prior to joining Vesper’s coaching staff, Scott served as Assistant Lightweight Coach at Yale University in 2007-08 and coached the Penn AC Senior and Intermediate Lightweights in the summer of 2008.

Scott began rowing at the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned a BA in History, and he rowed competitively for Undine Barge Club after college. Scott currently resides in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia.
