Vesper Boat Club Appoints Peter Mansfeld As High Performance Coach




Vesper Boat Club is excited and pleased to announce that Peter Mansfeld has been appointed as the head coach of the high performance rowing program. Peter takes the helm, following a very successful 2017 campaign for Vesper athletes, which resulted in seven medals at the FISA World Rowing Championships. Peter will guide Vesper’s athletes towards medals at the coming World Championships, and ultimately, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Prior to joining Vesper, Peter coached the United States men’s single sculler, Michael Clougher, at the 2017 FISA World Rowing Championships, in Sarasota, Florida. Peter was an assistant under Bernhard Stomporowski’s direction, at California Rowing Club.

In 2015, Peter coached the United States men’s double and quad, at the FISA World Rowing Championships, and also at the FISA Rowing World Cup II.

Before coaching in the United States, Peter assisted with coaching the German, Swiss, and Czech Rowing Federations, has several years of experience coaching athletes at the Junior World Rowing Championships, and also at the U23 World Rowing Championships.
